Combinatorics is the study of discrete structures that appear in computer science, mathematics, statistical physics, biology, and indeed everywhere else. The most studied families are certain families of trees, paths, permutations, tables, combinatorial maps, polynomials... Our main activity is to obtain theorems, results of a mathematical nature therefore, describing the discrete structures in question, their relations, and their behaviour. These results apply in particular to the analysis of algorithms and the study of statistical physics models.
