Vincent Martin recipient of 2022 of the thesis prize of the French Association of Spoken Communication (French-speaking learned society of "la parole"), for his thesis entitled: "New vocal biomarkers for the automatic detection automatic detection of sleepiness".
The AFCP (Association Française de la Communication Parlée) has awarded the 2022 thesis prize to Vincent Martin for his thesis entitled: "Nouveaux biomarqueurs vocaux pour la détection automatique de la somnolence" (New vocal biomarkers for the automatic detection of sleepiness) defended at the University of Bordeaux in June 2022 and prepared jointly at the LaBRI and the SANPSY laboratory.
Every year, this prize rewards the high quality of a thesis work in the field of communication technologies, humanities and life sciences. It allows to support and diffuse the work of young researchers in the field, and is awarded by a jury composed of elected researchers of the board of directors of the AFCP.
This year 2022 has been particularly competitive, thanks to many high quality applications. Each file was evaluated on three main axes: the scientific quality of the work, the clarity of the manuscript and the influence of the candidate, while taking into account the scientific themes of each candidate.
The prize will be officially awarded during the next Journées d'Etudes sur la Parole (JEP), in 2024, during which Vincent Martin will receive his prize and will be invited to present his work to the speech communication community.
This prize will also allow Vincent to publish his thesis as a book in the collection "Recherches en PArole" (CIPA editions).
