Prize awarded in June 2020, to Bruno Courcelle, to reward work offering "a broad understanding and fundamental study of calculability, thanks to excellent results and the development of a theory intended to last, to exceptional services rendered to the community concerned or a combination of these elements.

Bruno Courcelle receives this award for his work on the logic of the monadic second order applied to tree-structured graphs and the construction of algorithms, and in particular for the synthesis of this work published in a book written with J. Engelfriet.
